I always had a few issues with the way the Corel software tried to “fight” with the Windows operating system, and eventually I switched over to Adobe Illustrator, which seemed much more powerful at the time. I think this was around Illustrator version 4.

In any case, I stuck with Illustrator until they decided to abandon the conventional user-licensing arrangement and went subscription-only. After that, I tried to rely on public-domain vector drawing tools and software from smaller companies, but nothing was really working the way I had hoped. I finally needed to revise some figures that had been developed in Corel Draw for publication in an international standard, and purchased this version one behind the currently available one.
